Deceased Classmates

Amy Jo Flood, 38, lost her battle with addiction on Monday, November 14, 2016. In her earlier years, Amy worked as a CNA in Calais. She loved music, reading and was a very spiritual person. If you met Amy, you would never forget her or the impact she had on your life. Amy was a fun, kind and loving soul with a passion for helping others. She had the ability to make people feel at ease, a person you could talk to and confide in with an unwavering loyalty to those close to her. Amy was always good for a laugh, normally followed with a shock value that only she could deliver, she could always put a smile on your face. She loved her family, especially her three children, Branden, Rylee and Taylor. Amy was predeceased by her mother, Susan Sabattus; and a niece Abigail Flood. She will be sadly missed by her three children whom she loved and adored, Branden Gillespie, Rylee Bartlett and Taylor Bosworth; her very special grandmother who was like a mother, Betty Moreside; her father Ronnie Flood and stepmother Ann-Marie; two sisters Tonia Lanier and her family, Vanessa Flood and her family; two brothers, Andy Flood and his family, and Trevor Flood and his family; grandparents Ralph and Arline Flood; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Amy’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Following the service, a gathering will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2 Park St., Calais. -[Provided by Teresa Kelly MacLean.]

John Moreshead, 33, died suddenly Oct. 30, 2011, in Las Vegas. He was born May 12, 1978, in Calais, and was raised in Baring. He attended local schools, graduating in 1996 from Calais High School. He then attended the University of Maine at Farmington. John was a big man, standing 6 foot 4 inches, but was a big teddy bear at heart. He had a fun loving, goofy personality and was an amazing artist. His passion for drawing began when he was old enough to pick up a pencil. He drew a little bit of everything, but his main focus was comics. John moved to Las Vegas several years ago and at the time of his death was employed at Yack Construction, Las Vegas. John was fortunate to have a wonderful work family that he loved greatly, Rodney and Natalie Yack, and Martin and Linda Yack, and their extended family. John was predeceased by his grandparents, Charles and Claudette Hall, and Herbert and Ella Moreshead. He is survived by his wife, Kelly of Las Vegas; son, Grifyn; stepdaughter, Bailey, both of Las Vegas; son, Gavyn; his former wife and mother of Gavyn, Becky Fisk, both of Dover-Foxcroft; parents, Paul and Marye Moreshead of Casco; two brothers, Sean Moreshead and his wife, Belinda, of Baring, and Chad Moreshead and his wife, Laurie, of Westbrook; and sister, Jessica Tracy and her husband, Ben, of Winterport. Services for John will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at Palm Mortuary Northwest, Las Vegas, and 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Second Baptist Church, Church Street, Calais. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to John Moreshead Memorial Children's Fund, U.S. Bank, Montecito Office, 7005 North Durango Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89149.
